No one will be rooting for Huntington Beach Edison more to beat Servite in tonight’s Pac-5 Division final than Oceanside, which wants to play in the CIF state bowl championship Division I game. Oceanside (13-0) won the San Diego Division II championship Friday night with a 26-10 win over Helix.

If Edison wins and gets picked for the Open Division, Oceanside is likely to go to the Division I bowl game.

As far as Helix, its coach, former Woodland Hills Taft Coach Troy Starr, continues to have trouble in championship games. Starr, though, has much to look forward to. He was scheduled to start eight sophomores and one freshman in last night’s game.
