Baseball: Simi Valley alumni game is Jan. 23

Coach Matt La Belle of Simi Valley is putting together an alumni game on Jan. 23 to top all others. He said he has commitments from four Southern Section players of the year, plus the Weaver brothers, Jeff and Jered.

As many as 50 ex-Simi Valley players have expressed interest in playing in the game. Gates will open at 10 a.m., with a home-run hitting contest soon to follow.
