‘Long Beach Poly is a powerhouse,’ Camacho said. ‘We’re going to battle for four quarters and do our best to give them a great game.’

The Guards won the school’s first state championship last year. The Jackrabbits have won four consecutive state titles and are the No. 5 ranked team in the nation, according to USA Today.

‘They have great size and speed, but the size and speed we may lack, we’re going to make up for with toughness -- both mentally and physically,’ Camacho said.

The game between Long Beach Poly, ranked No. 3 in the Southland by The Times, and No. 7 Bell-Jeff is at 9 p.m. For the complete Ayala Extravaganza schedule, click here.
