Another attempt to have national championships

IMG Academies and the National High School Coaches Assn. have signed a deal to have tournament-style high school national championships during the summer in seven-on-seven football, seven-on-seven lacrosse, boys’ and girls’ team tennis and golf at the Bradenton, Fla., based facility.

The only problem is who’s going to be able to afford to come to Florida, considering the expected budget cutbacks looming in school districts.

Of course, private schools continue to upgrade their programs, so they should be fine.
