Alhambra broke Keppel’s 87-game Almont League winning streak Tuesday night with a 66-64 victory. The streak began in 2002.

Vera Machado scored 22 points and Jen Imaa had 20 for host Alhambra (16-4, 5-0). Alyson Lock led Keppel (9-12, 4-1) with 22 points.

At the time, Alhambra Coach Therese Berner, who is in her first season with the team, didn’t know the significance of the victory.

‘No wonder everyone was going crazy,’ Berner said.
