Boys’ basketball: A 40-point performance by Erik Swoope

Erik Swoope continued his MVP-like performances in the Mission League, scoring 40 points to help North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake defeat Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 87-77. He also had 13 rebounds and three blocks. He made 14 of 17 shots from the field.

Damiene Cain added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Attanasio had a career-high 11 assists.

In other games, Loyola defeated Encino Crespi, 63-48. Julian Harrell had 13 points and Miles Cartwright 11.

West Hills Chaminade defeated Los Angeles Verbum Dei, 68-43, with freshman Jaron Martin scoring 20 points.
