With a record of 22-2 and ranked No. 1 in Southern Section Division 4AA, Los Angeles Price is as close to a sure thing as there is when it comes to predicting a team to win a section title next month, and the Knights tuned up with a 79-45 rout of La Verne Lutheran on Friday night.

Allen Crabbe, playing before his future college coach, California’s Mike Montgomery, scored 24 points. Richard Solomon added 13 points.

It was Solomon’s presence on defense that bothered Lutheran (15-8), ranked No. 2 in Division 6AA. The Trojans never seemed comfortable inside and spent most of the night trying to connect from long range. It didn’t work. Sophomore Grant Jerrett, who’s 6-foot-8, performed well for the Trojans, scoring 13 points.
