On Monday night, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake won its 19th consecutive game and clinched the Mission League championship with a 57-18 victory over Los Angeles Verbum Dei.

The only problem was there were more cheerleaders in attendance (eight) than Harvard-Westlake students who seem to only show up when the Wolverines play Loyola at home or on the road.

‘They’re home studying,’ Harvard-Westlake spokesman Terry Barnum said.

That might be the official version for the lack of support, but the truth is the students knew it was going to be a rout and they’re not quite as loyal as the Cameron Crazies at Duke.

Maybe it’s going to take something embarrassing to get the students motivated, so one dedicated reporter went to the game Monday night and shot video of the lack of fans in the bleachers for a 21-4 team.

Now that’s embarrassing. See for yourself.
