Football: Top L.A. Jordan duo transfer to Gardena Serra

Two All-City juniors to be, linebacker Patrick Wooten and defensive back Raymond Ford from L.A. Jordan, have transferred to Gardena Serra.

Former Jordan Coach Elijah Asante said both left for safety, academic and athletic reasons. Wooten had two brothers who were killed in gang violence.

Their arrival should boost Serra, which went 15-0 last season and moves to the Mission League this fall, which also includes St. Paul, St. Francis, Chaminade, Harvard-Westlake and Cathedral.
