The girls’ basketball team from Twentynine Palms has to travel 296 miles to Santa Maria St. Joseph for a Southern Section Division 4A playoff game on Wednesday.

The trip should take approximately five to eight hours depending on traffic, according to Google maps.

‘By the tip off time, the girls will be sleepy, tired, cramping, dizzy, hungry, gaseous and so forth.... CIF should have a rule where the teams can meet in the middle if the distance is over 200 miles,’ fumed a post on SoCalHoops’ message board.

If the Wildcats lose that will be one long bus ride home.
