Boys’ basketball: Washington tries to end drought

Not since 1991 has a Washington boys’ basketball team advanced to the City Section semifinals. Washington can accomplish that feat with a quarterfinal victory over Los Angeles Fairfax.

Fairfax Coach Harvey Kitani can’t remember the last time one of his teams didn’t make the semifinals. Probably in the 1990s.

The music is loud in the Washington gym, the Generals have their band in attendance and we’ll see if the home-court advantage comes into play.
