Boys’ basketball: Harvard-Westlake 39, Centennial 34

Centennial has used pinpoint long-range shooting to cut into Harvard-Westlake’s lead but still trails 39-34 at halftime of tonight’s Division 3A semifinal game at Lynwood High.

The Apaches have made four three-pointers, including three by Deonte Burton, who has 12 points. Kevin Smith also has 12 points and Kurt Davis has 5 for Centennial, which trailed by as many 13 points.

Damiene Cain leads all scorers with 13 points, Erik Swoope has 9 and Nate Bulluck has 8 for Harvard-Westlake.
