Etiwanda eliminates No. 2 Long Beach Poly

Etiwanda and its man-to-man defense came up with another big game on Friday. The Eagles knocked off No. 2-seeded Long Beach Poly, 58-55, in the Southern Section Division 1AA semifinals. Next up is the ultimate test, a 6:30 p.m. game next Saturday against Santa Ana Mater Dei at the Honda Center. Mater Dei defeated Rancho Verde, 94-58, with Tyler Lamb scoring 21 points.

In 4AA, Los Angeles Price defeated Bishop Amat, 66-54. In 4A, Encino Crespi beat Sherman Oaks Notre Dame for the third time this season, 69-54. Alemany defeated Paraclete, 68-63. In 2A, Eisenhower defeated Damien, 82-72. In 2AA, Compton defeated Burbank, 71-48. In 3A, Keith Shamburger scored 31 points in Gardena Serra’s 81-60 win over Gahr.

In 1A, Santa Monica defeated Colony, 70-53, with James Montgomery scoring 25 points and getting 19 rebounds. Santa Monica will play Leuzinger in the championship game.

In City Section Division III, El Camino Real defeated Huntington Park, 57-46. Verdugo Hills defeated Hamilton, 72-61, with Chris Dees scoring 20 points and getting 20 rebounds.
