Long Beach Poly lost a Southern Section Division 1AA championship last year.
They weren’t about to let that happen again.
The Jackrabbits beat Corona Santiago, 58-38, Saturday night at Cal State Long Beach.
Brittany Wilson had 14 points, 11 of which were scored in the second half, and Ta’nitra Byrd added 11 for top-seeded Long Beach Poly (28-2).
Jasmine Lister led second-seeded Corona Santiago (29-3) with 15 points.
Long Beach Poly out rebounded Corona Santiago 59-38 and had nine more shot attempts than the Sharks. The Jackrabbits were 21 for 64 from the field, the Sharks were 13 for 55.
