The City Section is estimating its attendance for last Saturday’s Division I boys’ and girls’ final at the Galen Center was 4,500, with 4,100 paying customers. That’s up about 1,000 from last season, according to assistant commissioner Trent Cornelius.

The Southern Section attracted 6,540 for its day session Saturday at the Honda Center and 9,044 for the evening session. Let’s just say it’s always good to have Santa Ana Mater Dei in the final. The Monarchs’ fans always show up en masse.
