It’s not often that you see a team rout Crenshaw on its home court, but that’s just what Long Beach Poly did in winning, 87-62, on Tuesday in the first round of the Southern California Regional Division I playoffs.

The Jackrabbits (27-4) led, 40-34, at halftime but completely dominated the final two quarters, outscoring the Cougars, 47-28. Alex Carmon led the way for Poly with 27 points, Roschon Prince added 17 and Shelton Boykin finished with 11.

Darnell Taylor led Crenshaw (21-5) with 16 points, Emmett Duvall had 13 and Isaac Hamilton added 12.

The Jackrabbits’ 25-point victory is proof that, when at the top of their game, they can make good teams look average.
