Girls’ basketball: Summit 62, Ayala 52

Adrianne Thomas and Maiya Michel scored 16 points apiece to lift Summit to a 62-52 win in the first round of the Southern California Regional Division I playoffs Tuesday at Summit High.

Summit was up 32-24 at halftime, then Ayala hit two quick three-pointers at the top of the third to come within two points of the Skyhawks.

Summit pulled away in the fourth quarter, and held on for the win.

Jillian Alleyne had a game-high 26 points for Ayala.
