Softball: Midseason top five all-area pitchers

There are some phenomenal softball pitchers in the area, and the following five players have been selected by The Times as the best in the area at the midseason point.

Jessica Hall, Chino Hills Ayala, senior: UCLA-bound, she’s hitting .393 and has a 0.47 ERA with 177 strikeouts in 105 innings.

Cheyanne Tarango, Anaheim Canyon, junior: Tennessee-bound, she’s hitting .306 and has a 0.39 ERA with 130 strikeouts in 108 innings.

Natalee Pulver, Etiwanda, senior: Marshall-bound, she has a 0.64 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 76 innings.

Nancy Bowling, Simi Valley Royal, sophomore: Arizona-bound, she’s hitting .258 and has a 0.35 ERA with 154 strikeouts in 81 innings.

Kayla Massey, Mission Viejo Trabuco Hills, senior: Iowa-bound, she’s hitting .379 and has a 0.19 ERA with 150 strikeouts in 110 innings.
