Golf: West Ranch’s J.J. Holen wins Northern regional

J.J. Holen of Valencia West Ranch fired a 5-under par 67 at River Ridge Golf Club in Oxnard in the Northern regional final to lead all qualifiers for next Monday’s Southern Section individual championships.
Nick Thomas from West Hills Chaminade shot a 71 to qualify.
UCLA-bound Patrick Cantlay of Anaheim Servite won the Southern regional at Skylinks in Long Beach with a 6-under 66.
