Baseball: San Fernando clinging to 6-5 lead

So much for a pitching duel. San Fernando broke a 1-1 tie with five runs in the top of the fifth inning, then San Pedro scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth. San Fernando leads the Pirates, 6-5, in a City Section Division I playoff opener in the bottom of the sixth.

In finals, Woodland Hills Taft defeated Sylmar, 6-0, on a one-hitter by Zack Friedman. Woodland Hills El Camino Real got a three-run home run from Kyle Keppel to defeat South East, 12-0, in five innings. Wilmington Banning defeated Reseda Cleveland, 3-0.

Arleta defeated Granada Hills, 2-1. Birmingham leads Granada Hills Kennedy, 9-0. Chatsworth leads Harbor City Narbonne, 8-0.
