Tom Roanhaus has resigned as boys’ basketball coach at Westlake Village Oaks Christian, and former Reseda Cleveland Coach Andre Chevalier is considered the leading candidate to replace him.

Roanhaus has been the Lions’ coach the last five years. He also serves as the school’s middle school athletic director. He decided he needed to focus on that position, Athletic Director Jan Hethcock said.Chevalier has been coaching the Lions’ girls’ team, but he had great success coaching the boys’ team at Cleveland, where he helped develop Nick Young.

Hethcock has not opened the position to outside candidates yet, but if Chevalier is interested, he could be the choice. And he’d be a good one, too.
