The City Section track and field championships are set for Thursday night at Lake Balboa Birmingham, and Crenshaw’s De’Anthony Thomas is heavily favored to win the 100 and 200.

The first running race is 5:30 p.m. San Pedro’s Pablo Rosales should dominate in the distance races.

Top performers also qualify for next weekend’s state championships.
