Stellar relief pitching from Steve Criss and Patrick Zajac helped Cypress Oxford Academy win its second consecutive Division 6 championship with a 2-0 victory over Lancaster Desert Christian.

Oxford (22-5) got a run in the second inning on a passed ball and added another run in the sixth on an RBI double by Lucas Sardo.

Criss got out of a bases-loaded, no outs situation in the sixth with a strikeout and double play. He also had two hits.

Zajac came in to pitch in the seventh with a runner on base and one out. After a pop fly single, he got a fly out, then walked a batter to load the bases, forcing him to face Desert Christian’s best hitter, cleanup batter Taylor Aikenhead.

He got Aikenhead to ground out to end the game.
