Football: Schurr goes to Orange County and does well

Montebello Schurr took a long trip to Mission Viejo on Saturday for the Diablos’ passing tournament and came away with a third-place finish.

Quarterback Aaron Cantu, who’s 6-foot-3 and had a terrific junior year in which he passed for 2,500 yards and 28 TDs, leads Schurr. His big problem is that he lost most of his top receivers to graduation, and as has been proven in the past, it will take time for a quarterback to get back into top form with a new group of receivers.
