Football: Rancho Verde player killed in car accident

Emil Smith, a senior linebacker at Moreno Valley Rancho Verde who had recently committed to Boise State, died in a car accident on Sunday in Hemet, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reported. He was 18 and a passenger in the vehicle. Another man, 22-year-old Dimitri Garcia, who was driving, also died.
