Harbor City Narbonne used a bit of fourth-down trickery to strike first in its intersectional showdown against Long Beach Poly.
Noel Rankins took a pitch from quarterback Troy Williams, started to his right, stopped, then threw a 27-yard halfback option to Arlandus Richardson for a 7-0 lead with 11:22 left in the second quarter.
Poly answered less than one minute later on Keltain Malveaux‘s 45-yard run that tied the score 7-7.
Both offenses are starting to assert themselves, however, and with so much talent on both sides of the ball these teams are capable of producing plenty more points before halftime.
