Shaun Wick’s seven-yard touchdown run with 49 seconds left in the second quarter has given St. Bonaventure a 12-0 lead over Oaks Christian. A two-point conversion attempt failed. It’s now halftime.

The key play was a 20-yard fourth-down pass by quarterback Marc Evans to Josh Grajeda to the 13-yard line.

St. Bonaventure’s defense has been in control. Bobby Marquez made two interceptions in the quarter, giving him four in two games, and the Seraphs stuffed Oaks Christian running back Carlos Mendoza on fourth-and-one from the St. Bonaventure 37 with nine minutes left in the quarter.

Oaks Christian’s run defense has also had its moments, stopping St. Bonaventure running back Shaun Wick for no gain on a fourth-and-one from the Oaks Christian 44.

Oaks Christian quarterback Trevor Gretzky was twice intercepted because of poorly thrown passes simply thrown up in the air with the hope one of his receivers might pull it down. Each time, Marquez took advantage.
