Football: Carson is in regroup mode

Carson has a bye this week, and Coach Elijah Asante is still trying to learn from what Santa Margarita and Coach Harry Welch did to his team last week in a 56-14 loss.

‘It’s regroup time,’ Asante said. ‘He taught us a lot. He’s just a great coach. We were always a step behind him. It was a great coaching display, and it won’t get any easier against Bob Johnson.’

The Colts face Johnson and No. 1-ranked Mission Viejo next week.

‘Our team is not down,’ Asante said. ‘It was one of those nights. We’ll be back.’
