Baseball: USC, Arizona make push for Owens, Lopes

Two of the top senior high school baseball prospects in Southern California, pitcher Henry Owens and infielder Christian Lopes, both from Huntington Beach Edison, have USC and Arizona among their leading college candidates.

Of course, both could end up signing professional contracts, so even if they sign with a college team, it might be a moot point.

Both are taking the SAT this weekend so they’ll be able to start making official trips. Miami and Oregon are also is in the mix.
