Forgive me if I get burned out or run out of gas driving my Prius, but I’m on a three-game weekend pace. First up was Mater Dei-St. John Bosco on Thursday night. Next up is Crespi-Bishop Amat on Friday night. Then comes the finale, Gardena Serra-St. Francis on Saturday night.

I’m looking forward to seeing if Crespi’s defense is going to be able to stop Rio Ruiz and Co. Yes, the Celts will score some points. Kenny Stenhouse, the Celts’ quarterback, was on the Bishop Amat field almost three hours before game time dancing and feeling comfortable. That’s a good sign.

I was impressed with Mater Dei’s improvement since I last saw them against Carson. Todd Hunt, the transfer for Connecticut, is a big-time player who makes the Monarchs better on both sides of the ball. And wait until running back Corbin Anderson returns in another week. I also thought St. John Bosco has made good progress under Coach Jason Negro. The Braves had some great play calls and could have won.

So tune in to some blogs from Bishop Amat. Then I’m driving to Anaheim to appear live at 11:30 p.m. on Time Warner Cable Channel 101. If I get to sleep by 2 a.m., I’ll be happy and exhausted. Hey, anything for high school football.
