The Serra League championship will be decided on Friday night when La Puente Bishop Amat (9-0) travels to Mission Hills to face Alemany (9-0).

Alemany Coach Dean Herrington said it will be the biggest home game in his five years as coach.

‘We’re going to have to play our best to have a chance,’ he said.

It’s a matchup of top quarterbacks, with Rio Ruiz of Bishop Amat taking on Vernon Adams of Alemany.

What makes the game so difficult to project is that both teams have developed balance on offense. If you try to stop the run, both teams can pass.

Turnovers, penalties and execution could decide it. And Alemany also has a top kicker in Martin Meza.
