Inglewood’s Deajanae Scurry, a 6-foot-1 forward who averaged 11.2 points and 8.6 rebounds as a junior, has signed a letter of intent with San Diego State.

Scurry is ranked 31st in the nation in the 2011 class at the forward position and was a first team All-CIF selection in 2010.

‘[Deajanae] is an explosive scorer who has a good outside shot and has been working in the offseason on her three-point range,’ Inglewood Coach Anthony Scott said in a news release. ‘She has a high basketball IQ, high court awareness and plays well beyond her 6-1 height.’

Scurry, affectionately called ‘Nae Nae’ by her coaches and teammates, is planning to major in kinesiology.
