Football: Blackwell availability uncertain for playoff opener

Santa Ana Mater Dei receiver Victor Blackwell, who reinjured his shoulder last week against Santa Margarita, is a game-day decision whether he’ll play in the Monarchs’ Pac-5 Division playoff opener against Long Beach Poly on Friday at Veterans Stadium, according to Coach Bruce Rollinson.

This is a game between two of the most successful athletic programs in California. Their tradition of excellence and loyal alumni makes the game very intriguing.

And the winner will have a good chance of advancing to the semifinals.
