It’s three hours before kickoff of the Northern Division final between neighborhood rivals Westlake Village Westlake and Oaks Christian, and I can sense the excitement in the air.

I’m at Oaks Christian, and the field is mostly empty but it looks magnificent. This season, they added bleachers in both end zones, increasing capacity close to 7,000, and it creates a bowl-like feeling, with fans close to the field. When the seats are filled and the noise is deafening, it will be an amazing environment for the players.

Oaks Christian lost to Westlake, 31-12, during the regular season, but the Lions are vastly improved. But have they improved enough to win?
