Westchester has taken a 19-7 lead over Fairfax after the first quarter of their Western League basketball showdown.

Westchester scored the first nine points of the game. Landon Drew gave a boost to the Lions scoring off a pair of impressive drives to the basket.

Westchester sophomore guard Matthew Grant has made a pair of baskets for the Comets.

Fairfax is playing without one of its leading scorers, Brendyn Taylor, who was declared ineligible on Tuesday by the CIF after playing in seven games after receiving a hardship waiver from a CIF appeals panel.
