Boys’ basketball: It’s a big week for Loyola

This is the week we find out just how good Los Angeles Loyola is. The Cubs, 13-5 overall and 4-2 in the Mission League, play four tough games.

It starts with a Monday road game at Encino Crespi, followed by a Wednesday road game at Mission Hills Alemany. On Friday, the Cubs host West Hills Chaminade. And on Saturday, they play unbeaten Etiwanda in the Fairfax State Preview Classic in the featured 8 p.m. game at Fairfax.

Other games in the Fairfax one-day event: 10:30 a.m., LACES vs. North Torrance, girls; noon, La Canada vs. Oceanside El Camino; 1:30 p.m., L.A. Windward vs. Torrey Pines; 3 p.m., Santa Monica vs. North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake; 4:30 p.m., L.A. Price vs. Mission Hills Alemany; 6:30 p.m., Fairfax vs. Gardena Serra.
