Girls’ basketball: Mater Dei widens its lead

Mater Dei has opened the second quarter on a 6-0 run and leads Santa Monica 16-8 midway through the second quarter of tonight’s Southern California Regional quarterfinal at Mater Dei High.

Santa Monica has turned the ball over three times this quarter and the Vikings have yet to attempt a free throw.
