Baseball: Alcantara has four hits in Bishop Amat victory

Sophomore first baseman Adam Alcantara contributed four singles and junior third baseman Rio Ruiz had a double and two singles as No. 13 La Puente Bishop Amat defeated No. 3 Chatsworth, 5-0, in a nonleague game Monday night at USC.

It was an impressive performance by Bishop Amat (4-2), which received 4 2/3 shutout innings from Daniel Zamora. Bishop Amat collected 12 hits. Chatsworth (5-1), which won the Easton tournament championship on Saturday, was limited to five hits, three by shortstop Brady Conlan. Angel Rodriguez was the losing pitcher.
