To call it an upset would be an understatement. Fontana Summit (28-7) has pulled off the shocker of the day at the Galen Center, knocking off defending state Division II champion San Diego Lincoln, 74-69, in the Southern California Division II regional final.

Summit trailed by eight points going into the fourth quarter, then went on a 14-1 run to take control behind senior guard Montigo Alford, who contributed nine consecutive points. Junior guard Devon Alexander was another standout, repeatedly driving and showing fearlessness when the pressure kept going up.

Lincoln came in with a 31-1 record, its only loss to Long Beach Poly. Summit advances to the Division II final on Friday night in Sacramento.
