Girls’ basketball: St. Joseph takes lead over Gardena Serra

Santa Maria St. Joseph, after a slow start, has grabbed a 13-12 lead over Gardena Serra after the first quarter of the Southern California Regional Division III girls’ final at the Galen Center.

Serra took 10-2 lead to start the game, but Kelsi English got her team in gear after making consecutive three-pointers. Her layup put the Knights on top, 13-12.
