I’ve made it to Sacramento for the final weekend of high school basketball. The sun is starting to come out, and there will be four games Friday at Power Balance Pavilion on the first day of the state championships.

Playa del Rey St. Bernard is in the spotlight, trying to win boys’ and girls’ championships in Division V. Then it will be the Rialto girls’ team in Division II, followed by Fontana Summit in Division II boys.

The big question is whether any of the three public school teams represented will win a state title. Otherwise, it’s going to be a celebration of private-school dominance.

I’ll be blogging all weekend from the games.

The first one starts at 1:30 p.m. with the St. Bernard boys’ team in action.
