Baseball: Dennis Gilbert Classic final is Saturday

The championship game of the Dennis Gilbert Easter Classic presented by State Farm is set for Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Urban Youth Academy in Compton.

Dennis Gilbert will throw the ceremonial first pitch, and former major leaguers Tommy Davis and Jim ‘Mudcat’ Grant are scheduled to attend.

Friday’s semifinals matched Venice against Hamilton and Bell against Marshall. Venice defeated Hamilton, 6-4, to reach the final.
