Mission Viejo Trabuco Hills is 20-2 and won the San Luis Obispo tournament after defeating Moorpark in the championship game.

Wilmington Banning is 16-6 and has won seven one-run games this season.

One of the great pitching matchups of the season is set for Tuesday afternoon. It will be Lucas Giolito of North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake pitching against Mathew Troupe of West Hills Chaminade, with first place in the Mission League on the line in the 3:45 p.m. game at Harvard-Westlake’s O’Malley Family Field.

JSerra Coach Brett Kay, a Mater Dei grad, will break out his ‘Beat Mater Dei’ speech this week, because the Lions and Mater Dei face off in what could be decisive games to decide the Trinity League title. JSerra (18-3, 7-2) plays host to Mater Dei (17-4, 8-1) on Tuesday at 6 p.m., then travels to Mater Dei on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Correction: An earlier version of this blog had the wrong sites for the JSerra-Mater Dei games.
