Baseball: Dingilian puts Chaminade back in first place

Michael Dingilian threw a complete game to help West Hills Chaminade move back into first place in the Mission League after beating North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake, 5-2.
The Wolverines (17-7, 6-2) opened a 2-0 lead over Chaminade (16-6, 8-2) when Dingilian had control problems in the first two innings. But he settled down, and Chaminade scored five runs in the second inning, getting an RBI single from Mathew Troupe and a two-run single from Dingilian.
West Ranch got seven strikeouts and a complete game from JC Cloney to defeat Valencia, 3-1, in a Foothill League game. The loss drops Valencia (16-6, 8-3) into a first-place tie with Newhall Hart (17-5, 8-3). Hart defeated Canyon Country Canyon, 2-1.
In the Trinity League, Orange Lutheran completed a sweep of St. John Bosco, winning, 9-1. Tommy Bell had three hits and two RBIs. Servite defeated Santa Margarita, 13-12.
In the Channel League, Santa Barbara (18-5, 9-1) defeated Dos Pueblos, 7-3. Collin Dewell hit a three-run home run. Colin Eaton also homered.
Huntington Beach Edison (20-2, 10-0) remained unbeaten in the Sunset League after a 13-3 victory over Newport Harbor. Eric Snyder had a home run and double to pass Shawn Green and take over the No. 9 spot for most career hits in Southern Section history.
Lake Forest El Toro won its eighth consecutive game with a 5-4 South Coast League victory over Dana Hills. Daniel Conmy drove in three runs in the fourth inning. Garrett Mundell (7-0) got the victory.
In the Pacific League, Crescenta Valley defeated Glendale Hoover, 10-1. Kyle Murray struck out 10. Kyle Pomeroy hit a grand slam. Burbank defeated Glendale, 11-0. James Johnson had three RBIs.
Palm Desert (19-4) defeated Cathedral City, 5-1. Kaz Halcovich struck out seven and allowed three hits. Jonathan Serven and Cody Kabeary each had two hits. Vista Murrieta defeated Great Oak, 4-2, improving to 18-4 and 10-1 in league.
