The executive committee of the CIF Southern Section met in closed session on Thursday and declined to support a proposed new state-wide TV contract until it sees the contract in its entirety, spokesman Thom Simmons said.

That could signal trouble for the CIF, which is trying to come up with a new contract, though the CIF executive director, Marie Ishida, has declined comment on the specifics because the contract is under negotiations.

Each section would receive funds from a new TV contract. This could get interesting.

The executive committee also declined to support a Southern Section baseball playoff proposal that would add a double-elimination format. The proposal will go to the Southern Section Council in October for a vote.
