Football: Early reports are good on freshmen

There are some early reports on freshmen football players, and the coaches are impressed.

Westlake’s freshman team traveled to the Sacramento area and defeated Del Oro, 53-0. Jalen Harrison, a defensive back, might not be long on the freshman team. Varsity Coach Jim Benkert said Harrison returned an interception for a touchdown and ‘looks like a man.’

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame quarterback Tyler Hilinski, brother of varsity quarterback Kelly Hilinski, led the Knights to a victory over Gardena Serra, which went 10-0 last season.

Jack Savage, son of UCLA baseball Coach John Savage, had a sack and a touchdown for Anaheim Servite against Oceanside.
