Anthony January, who played briefly at Compton last season before leaving school, is expected to enroll at Woodland Hills Taft after considering Bellflower St. John Bosco.

If January enrolls and gains his eligibility, it would make Taft the favorite to win the City Division I title under first-year Coach Jason Hart.

He’d join Shaqquan Aaron, a transfer from Santa Ana Mater Dei, and returnees Brandon Perry, Steven Jones and Kris Yanku. Add to them, guard Alesandro Alberto is a highly regarded junior who sat out last season after transferring from Florida.
