Corona Centennial had a fabulous senior-dominated basketball team last season that made it to the Southern Section Division 1AA championship game before losing to Long Beach Poly.

Now the Huskies are ready to rebuild behind four freshmen who could end up as starters on varsity: 6-foot-5 Ryan Heiligenthal, 6-2 Victor Lewis, 6-2 Will Smith and 6-2 Kyle Hamilton.

Coach Josh Giles also has 6-1 junior Sam Finley, a transfer from Riverside King, so the Huskies will be starting over.

‘We’re going to be incredibly young,’ he said.

Lewis could be the best of the freshmen in the long run.
