Bryce Treggs of Bellflower St. John Bosco vs. Steven Mitchell of Mission Hills Alemany. Two elite receivers who their coaches want to touch the football as much as possible each game. And which of them is able to be most effective could be decisive in the Pac-5 Division opener between the two schools on Friday at Alemany.

This game matches two teams loaded with speed.

‘It might be basketball on grass,’ St. John Bosco Coach Jason Negro said.

Treggs, a senior committed to California, rarely leaves the field on offense or defense. Ditto for Mitchell, a junior. Both teams look for ways to use their athleticism and big-play abilities.

St. John Bosco and Alemany are in the same bracket as top-seeded Anaheim Servite, which would prefer to see neither down the road.

St. John Bosco could have the most talent of any Pac-5 team. It’s always a question can the Braves limit their turnovers and penalties in a big game? Alemany has demonstrated it knows how to execute under pressure.

Watch for the impact Treggs and Mitchell have on Friday.
