The City Section football season is over _ or not. L.A. Marshall, which lost to South East, 51-34, in the Division II championship game, is alleging that the Jaguars used an ineligible player, according to assistant commissioner John Aguirre.

The player was ineligible academically for much of the season, then returned in early November. The question is whether he practiced a required period before he played.

South East Coach Derwin Henderson said, ‘I say he practiced.’

If the player is judged to be ineligible, don’t look for South East to surrender its championship. It would go to the City rules committee for action, and South East could face banishment from next year’s playoffs as possible punishment.
